Do These Unbelievably Horrifying Photos Show the Miami Cannibal’s Victim?
These two really, unbelievably gruesome photos, allegedly of the Miami man whose face was partially eaten off over Memorial Day weekend, have been circulating around the internet, because the sight of rended flesh is a visceral reminder of the unbearably thin dividing line between life and death, and also because they’re really fucking gross.

Are they real? Probably: they match the photo that MediaTakeOut has (“DAYUMMMMMMMM!!! Do You Wanna See The WHATS LEFT OF DUDES FACE . . . After The South Beach Cannibal Finished EATING IT OFF!!”), and they haven’t appeared on the internet before, based on Google and TinEye searches. The Miami Herald describes the face like this:
Much of his face was gone, the skin ripped away, the nose bitten and the eyes gouged.
What remained was his goatee and little else.
Which would seem to match up with the photos we have, more or less. (The guy in the photo has a full beard, not a goatee, but… how many different people have had the top halves of their faces eaten off?) The paper also seems to confirm that the other photo above — showing the body of Rudy Eugene, whose “cocaine psychosis” led him to a highway off-ramp where he partially feasted on his still-unnamed victim’s face — is, in fact from the scene.

El vagabundo que fue violentamente atacado por un sujeto drogado el pasado sábado, en Miami, ha sido identificado por las autoridades como Ronald Poppo, de 65 años.
Poppo, quien vivía debajo un camino elevado, continúa en condición crítica e irreconocible en la unidad de trauma del hospital Jackson Memorial tras que su atacante, Rudy Eugene, de 31 años, le comiera el 75% de su rostro a plena luz del día en la rampa de una autopista de Miami.
Hasta ahora, al menos un testigo ha dicho que presenció el ataque. Según publicó Prensa Asociada, Larry Vega andaba en bicicleta el sábado por la tarde frente a una rampa de la autopista MacArthur cuando vio el ataque, dijo a medios locales. La vía une el centro de Miami con Miami Beach.
“El señor estaba como despedazándolo con su boca, así que le dije: ‘¡Quítate de encima!”, declaró Vega a la televisora WSVN de Miami. “El tipo seguía comiéndose al otro tipo, como arrancándole la piel”.
Vega le hizo señales a un policía de Miami, quien, dijo Vega, le ordenó repetidas veces al atacante que se le quitara de encima a la víctima. El agresor sólo levantó la cabeza y le gruñó al agente, recordó Vega.
Como el hombre seguía atacando, el agente le disparó al agresor, que siguió masticando el rostro del otro hombre desnudo. Entonces el agente volvió a disparar y lo mató.
